## 1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is:

schoettler Software GmbH\
Einheitstraße 15, 50733 Cologne, Germany\

## 2. General information on data processing

We process personal data only insofar as this is necessary to provide our website and services. Processing generally takes place only with the consent of the data subject, unless the processing is permitted by law.

**Legal bases:** Depending on the processing activity, we rely on consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b)), a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) or legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

**Storage period:** Personal data is deleted as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, unless statutory retention periods require otherwise.

## 3. No external services, no tracking

This website deliberately embeds **no external content or tracking services**: no web analytics tool, no advertising or social-media modules and no external maps. In particular, **fonts, images and scripts are served locally from our server** (no calls to Google Fonts or other third parties). Visiting our pages therefore transfers no data to third parties.

Note: offerings reachable via links – such as the app stores or CalcTape Web – reside at their own, separately accessed addresses. Data is only transmitted to such a page once you actively click the link.

## 4. Provision of the website, log files and anonymous usage statistics

Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically records technical data about the requesting device. According to our hosting provider IONOS, this comprises the page or file requested, the previously visited page (referrer), browser type and version, the operating system used, the device type, the time of access and the IP address in anonymised form.

IP addresses are anonymised there upon collection. Full IP addresses are not stored permanently. The anonymised log files are stored for a maximum of 8 weeks. They serve to ensure the functionality, security and stability of the website as well as the anonymous, aggregated statistical evaluation of usage, for example to determine page views and the reach of individual pages.

In addition, we record in aggregated and anonymous form how often individual features of CalcTape Web (calctape.app) are used, for example share links, themes or settings. Only event counters without any personal reference are stored. No cookies, IP addresses, identifiers or calculation contents are stored in the process. Conclusions about individual persons are impossible.

Usage measurement takes place without any external web analytics tool and exclusively on the basis of anonymous or anonymised data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in the secure provision, technical optimisation and needs-based further development of our offering. Consent is not required as there is neither a personal reference nor access to your device.

## 5. Cookies and local storage

We use **no tracking or marketing cookies**. Insofar as technically necessary cookies are required for operation, they are used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

**Local storage of settings (`localStorage`):** In order to provide our services we store certain settings exclusively in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device, is **not** transmitted to us and is never evaluated.

- **On this website:** your chosen appearance (light/dark).
- **In the application (calctape.app):** additionally your individual configurations (for example key assignments) and the calculation you are currently working on, so that your data is not lost when the page is reloaded.

Please note: this locally stored data is lost if you delete your browser data or use private browsing mode. Please therefore save important calculations as a file or as a link.

Local storage is necessary for the application to work (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete this data yourself at any time via your browser settings.

## 6. Contact form and email contact

When you use our [contact form](https://www.calctape.com/en/contact), we process the data you provide: **title, name, email address, the selected subject, the selected platform and your message text**. This data is transmitted to us by email solely in order to process your enquiry and is not passed on to third parties. The same applies to registering as a beta tester: we use your email address solely to invite you to the test programme and to keep you informed about it; you may object to any further use at any time by informal notice. If you contact us by email directly, we process the personal data transmitted accordingly.

To protect against automated abuse we limit the number of submissions per internet connection. For this purpose a non-reversible check value (hash) of your IP address is stored on our server for 15 minutes when you submit the form and deleted afterwards. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing spam (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The legal basis for processing the form data is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and, where a contract is being initiated, additionally Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The data is deleted as soon as the conversation has ended and no retention obligations conflict with deletion. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future; in that case the conversation cannot be continued.

## 7. Encryption (SSL/TLS)

For security reasons this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar and by "https://" in the address.

## 8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

- **Access** (Art. 15) to your stored data, its purposes, categories, recipients, storage period and origin.
- **Rectification** (Art. 16) of inaccurate data and completion of incomplete data.
- **Erasure** (Art. 17), unless a statutory retention reason or legitimate interest applies.
- **Restriction of processing** (Art. 18) under certain conditions.
- **Data portability** (Art. 20) in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
- **Objection** (Art. 21) on grounds relating to your particular situation; for direct marketing at any time and without giving reasons.
- **Withdrawal of consent** (Art. 7(3)) with effect for the future.
- **No automated decision-making** in individual cases (Art. 22).
- **Complaint to a supervisory authority** (Art. 77) if you consider the processing unlawful.

A simple, informal message to [info@schoettler.com](mailto:info@schoettler.com) is enough to exercise your rights.
